The design of an ongoing series of workshops is predicated on the assumptions that residency training programs are responsible for “supervising the supervisors” and that quality in supervision depends on training. For psychotherapy supervisors, the article recommends that training programs provide support, skill development and maintenance, supervision and evaluation. The scarcity of literature relevant to supervisor training is noted.
