Abstract

We investigated the influence on the superconducting properties of substrate type (MgO and SrTiO3 (STO)) in (Bi0.8Pb0.2)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ (BSCCO) highly oriented thin films. The films prepared by r. f. magnetron sputtering has been studied by resistance and critical current measurements, SEM and XRD analysis. An enhancement in the critical current density values (Jc) at 77 K in BSCCO/STO films is observed. It might be correlated with texture effects. The temperature dependence of Jc as a function of substrate type is discussed.
