Abstract
This paper aims to determine the contribution of diction mastery variables (X1) and achievement motivation variable (X2) simultaneously in the narrative writing skills based on Timor cultural wisdom. The study was conducted in Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program, Timor University from March to August 2019 using a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Based on the Summary Model table derived from the calculation of the SPSS 20 program, the amount of contribution of variable (X1) and variable (X2) simultaneously to variable (Y), the correlation coefficient is 0.746 and is categorized as strong. Based on such table, the R square value is 0.556 and the Sig. F Change value = 0.000 at significance level of α = 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). It means that the contribution(s) of variable (X1) and variable (X2) simultaneously to variable (Y) is 55.6% and significant while the rest of 44.4% is determined by other variable(s).AbstrakKajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sumbangan variabel penguasaan diksi (X1) dan variabel motivasi berprestasi (X2) secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan menulis narasi berbasis kearifan lokal budaya Timor (Y). Kajian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Universitas Timor bulan Maret 2019 sampai dengan Agustus 2019. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Berdasarkan tabel Model Summary yang diperoleh dari penghitungan program SPSS 20 diketahui besarnyasumbangan variabel (X1) dan variabel (X2) secara simultan terhadap variabel (Y) yang dihitung dengan koefisien korelasi adalah sebesar 0,746 dan termasuk kategori kuat. Berdasarkan tabel Model Summary juga diperoleh nilai R Square sebesar 0.556 dan nilai Sig. F Change = 0.000 pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05 (0.000 < 0.05). Hal ini berarti kontribusi atau sumbangan variabel (X1) dan variabel (X2) secara simultan terhadap variabel (Y) adalah 55,6% dan signifikan, sedangkan 44,4% ditentukanoleh variabel lain.
