Abstract
The electronuclear sum-rule approach to static quadrupole moments is generalized to apply to arbitrary states in even nuclei. Additional results on the 2 1 + and 2 2 + states are reported and results for the 4 1 + states of 152Sm, 162Dy and 194Pt are given, and reasonable agreement with experiment is obtained. The sum-rule prediction of Q(3 1 −) for 194Pt remains to be tested.
