Abstract

Abstract Parasitic fungi on Italian termites.—The presence of three species of parasitic fungi on Reticulitermes lucifugus (Rossi) in central Italy is reported. These species are: Antennopsis gallica Heim e Buchli (Hyphomycetes, Gloeohaustoriales), Laboulbeniopsis termitarius Thaxt. (Ascomycetes, uncertain taxonomic position) and Termitaria snyderi Thaxt. (Hyphomycetes, Termitariales). The first one is new for Italy, the second one is new for all Europe while the third one had been already recorded in Sardinia on the same insect. None of these parasites has been observed on Calotermes flavicollis (F.), a termite also present in the same area.
