Abstract

This study attempts to explain the concept of Sufism and its Islamic sources, and I chose for it the title: (Sufism and Ethics in Islamic Culture), as it began by defining Sufism, and how it originated from its early beginnings before mixing and contact with other cultures and to clarify its sources, the stages it passed through, and the criticism we live today. For this concept and its denial, it is necessary to go to research, study and analysis of the concept of Sufism in terms of definition, origin, development and its sources, and what has been reached is that Sufism cannot be understood unless it is placed in its historical context, because ideas do not arise or spread out of a vacuum; Therefore, it seemed to us, through perusal and research, that Sufism was established in the embrace of the Islamic environment, and then it has methods and schools that have their own characteristics and advantages. One of the requirements of this study is the use of a method that is an objective tool to reach the truth, and for this the historical and analytical methods were used, as well as the descriptive method. Key words: Sufi, Nishapur, Hermits, Orientalists, Al-Tusi
