Abstract
Why have the media failed to go to war on the coalition government? Because they've been outsmarted, believes the veteran political journalist, Chris Moncrieff. Fleet Street has not been able to find, or provoke, a civil war. He argues that despite the government's political diversity it is making far more of a success of protecting its own good name than New Labour ever did.
