Abstract
Periodontal disease is amongst the most prevalent diseases worldwide. Also its chronic and inammatory nature has proved a signicant relation with overall systemic health of an individual. So it's very crucial to diagnose its presence and severity at very early stage to protect periodontal health as well as overall wellbeing of a person. Modern technologies have provided clinicians with automated probes but the major drawback is their cost and technique sensitivity. Owing to these limitations of new diagnostic tools, the conventional tools of diagnosis such as clinical examination and radiographic evaluation (in combination) still got the upper hand. In this review article, we will discuss about basic consideration and new developments in radiographic evaluation in periodontal disease.
