Abstract
ABSTRACT Casinghead gas gathering systems are generally limited to low pressure reservoirs; however, they may also be used successfully in reservoirs under pressure maintenance. This paper discusses the theory, design, and results of an 82 well gas gathering system at the North Riley Unit, a Clear Fork reservoir under waterflood operations. The design of the system includes: 1) sizing the gathering lines, 2) isolating portions of the system, 3) modifying existing production wellheads, and 4) locating possible areas of liquid accumulations. Gas gathering has resulted in lower operating pressures of surface facilities, increased oil production, and increased downhole pump efficiency.
