Abstract

A 56 year old woman presented with an asymptomatic left renal artery aneurysm. Selective renal angiography (A) revealed a rare Cho-Stanley type III renal arteriovenous malformation with three large communicating aneurysms (5, 4.5, and 2 cm) arising from a cranial renal segment artery with dilated left renal and ovarian veins. (B) Percutaneous femoral access allowed transarterial coil embolisation (8 mm Penumbra Occlusion Device [POD] and 15 cm POD packing coil; Penumbra, Alameda, CA, USA) and percutaneous right internal jugular vein transvenous plug venous outflow occlusion (8 mm Amplatzer plug; AGA Medical, Golden Valley, MN, USA; arrow). Completion angiography showed complete aneurysm and fistula occlusion and uncompromised renal perfusion.
