Abstract
Production of K mesons and antiprotons in heavy ion collisionsis considered at energies below the production threshold in thefree nucleon-nucleon collisions. A simple nuclear fluiddynamics model was used to describe the experimental data. Thecalculation reproduces the experimental energy spectra of thesubthreshold kaons and antiprotons at various energies andvarious combinations of the colliding nuclei. For strangeparticles and antiparticles the associative character of theproduction was taken into account, which considerably reducedthe absolute value of the production cross section.
