Abstract
The paper presents a detailed analysis of the relation between the substructural transformations and plastic deformation stages in [001]-oriented Cu – 12 at.% Al single crystals at room temperature. Panoramic transmission electron microscopy images are obtained for the defect microstructures occurred at different deformation stages. The stress–strain curves are associated with the dislocation substructures forming during the deformation process. The Cu – 12 at.% Al single crystals are characterized by the microtwin substructure, which occurs at the third stage of deformation.
