Abstract
Resonance Raman spectra of CF 2I 2 in cyclohexane and in methanol solutions were taken with excitation within the directly dissociative A-band absorption. The CF 2I 2 in cyclohexane solution resonance Raman spectrum is substantially different than that in methanol solution, which suggests that solvent–solute interactions noticeably affect the short-time photodissociation dynamics of CF 2I 2. We compare the qualitative short-time photodissociation dynamics of CF 2I 2 and CH 2I 2 to examine substituent and solvent effects.
