Abstract

The purpose of the research is an experimental substantiation of the methodology for determining ash content by the X-ray radiometric method. A brief overview of modern methods of coal ash content control is given. One of the independent directions of solid fuel quality control is the X-ray radiometric method. To increase the accuracy of determining the ash content of coal, a technique using two sources is proposed. The proposed method, using secondary radiation backscattered by coal and fluorescent radiation of elements, gives better results than the well-known method for determining ash content by backscattered radiatio
