Abstract

For the first time, subpicosecond optical demultiplexing at 10 GHz with a dispersion-flattened nonlinear loop mirror has been demonstrated. The loop was controlled by 500 fs pulses from a gain-switched laser diode with a spectral filtering technique. The demultiplexed pulse width was as short as 770 fs.
