AbstractOver recent decades, the Quay Brothers (identical twins Stephen and Timothy) have developed an aesthetic language that is immediately recognisable and has gained them many admirers – no matter what media they express themselves in. They combine filmmaking, drawing, calligraphy, puppetry and moody chiaroscuro décor and installations. Edwin Carels, former curator of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, guides us through one of their recent installations.
