Abstract

Eagle's syndrome is characterised by an elongated styloid process or calcified stylohyoid ligament causing recurrent throat pain, foreign body sensation in the throat, dysphagia, or facial pain. While this syndrome is usually benign and asymptomatic, the presence of an elongated styloid process and/or ossifying stylohyoid ligament can have significant consequences. A patient with Eagle's syndrome is reported with special reference to the aetiology, pathogenesis, and radiological features.
