Abstract
Presents a photograph of Cray's supercomputer circuits. A supercomputer is simply a computer that can perform many more calculations per second than the typical computer of its generation. Yesterday’s supercomputer packed the punch of today’s smartphone. From the 1950s through the 1980s, Seymour Cray was the undisputed champion among supercomputer designers. His iconic machines were distinctive for not just their speed but also their visual appeal.
