Abstract
To elucidate the performance of quasi zero stiffness structure (QZSS) added to seat’s suspension on various vehicle models, three typical models of the vehicle including the car, soil compactor, and vehicle truck are used and established to study the QZSS under various simulations of vehicles. The experiment of soil compactor with seat suspension using QZSS has been also done to strengthen the research results. The result research at the time domain and frequency domain shows that QZSS added into seat’s suspension system is very effective in isolating operator’s seat vibrations in all three models. Especially, the QZSS is very effective when the vehicles are moving on poor road surfaces and high speeds. Besides, the performance of QZSS on the soil compactor’s seat is better than that of the vehicle truck and car. Therefore, this discovery can be a very useful reference for researching and applying QZSS to seat suspension in all off-road vehicles including earth-moving machinery and soil compactors.
