Abstract

A method for modeling and simulation the production and fragmentation processes of TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) by femtosecond laser ablation technique is presented in this work. Two processes considered to describe this simulation. In the first one, the laser-material interaction process will be described by absorption modeling of the laser energy via target material and its transfer to the lattice, using Two Temperature Model (TTM), which is based on the coupled temperature evolution of the electronic and lattice subsystems. The second process has been executed using a nucleation process for modeling the formation of nanoparticles, it will be described by the Classical Nucleation Theory (CNT). This simulation can predict the effect of system independent variables and designate the optimum independent parameters for producing NPs with small diameter and less size distribution.
