Abstract

The paper discusses an aerodynamic modification (Gurney Flap) that is applied to an automobile's rear wing to boost the rear wings down force. The mod itself is low-cost and simple to implement. This technique increases the negative lift or lift by altering the pressure on the wing's top and lower surfaces. The flap does not need to be built of any unique material; it can be made of aluminium, wood, fibre, or any other light material and riveted or attached to the wing's trailing edge. It has been discovered from earlier study and computational fluid dynamics data that the gurney flap plays a key role in improving wing aerodynamics performance and how improved it is compared to the other wing with no gurney flap and conclusion has been made that what should be the geometry profile of Gurney flap.
