Abstract

New research shows that fewer than a third of grantmaking foundations fund nonprofit endowments, despite the fact that endowments can be a “powerful grantmaking tool that not only can address longstanding racial inequities but also represents a direct transfer of power,” according to the Bridgespan Group and the Center for Effective Philanthropy.
