Abstract
A stereoselective synthesis of the aide chain of 26,27-bisnorbrassinolide which involves high stereoselective alkylation of 20-carbaldehyde compound 3 with 2-lithium-2-isopropane-1,3-dithiane 4 is described. The synthesis of a new 26,27-bisnorbrassinolide is also described.The evaluation of its plant growth promoting activity will be reported elsewhere.
