Abstract
For curing the common cold due to windcold , bosom frowsty cough, feng shui edema, bronchial asthma disease and etc, DL-ephedrine was synthesized by taking α-(Methylamino) propiophenone as the starting material followed reduction reaction. L-(-)-dibenzoyltartaric acid was used to resolve DL-ephedrine to get optically pure isomers D-(-)-ephedrine and L-(+)-ephedrine.Chemical structure was confirmed by IR and optical purify was up to grade.
