Abstract

Objective To investigate correlation between levels of serum relaxin and coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. Methods Two hundred and thirty-three patients were recruited from February 2015 to April 2016, 91 cases in acute coronary syndrome(ACS) group, 72 cases in stable angina pectoris(SAP) group and 70 cases in normal control(NC) group. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to measure the levels of serum relaxin, and the correlation between the levels of serum relaxin and other risk factors of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease was analyzed. Results The plasma relaxin level in ACS group was(29.31±7.14) ng/ml, that in SAP group was(12.01±4.10)ng/ml, that in NC group was(5.78±3.11)ng/ml, the differences were significant(P<0.05). The plasma relaxin level was positively correlated with age, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, smoking history and level of high density lipoprotein. Conclusions Serum relaxin is a new marker of coronary heart disease, which may be a new risk factor for coronary heart disease. Key words: Coronary heart disease; Acute coronary syndrome; Stable angina pectoris; Relaxin
