Abstract

In this paper, the preparation method was studied for inclusions metallographic sample, and the analytical method was also studied for the volume fraction and size distribution of inclusions in uranium metal. The results show that the morphology of inclusions is more clearly using mechanical polishing than using chemical polishing and electrolytic polishing. According to the stereological formula, the volume fraction of inclusions was measured using the edited program by Image analyzer software. The size of inclusions is classified according to the size of the equivalent diameter, and the amount of inclusions in different size ranges is statistically analyzed. It is found that the area percentage of UN is larger than that of UO2 in the field of view. The amount of inclusions with different sizes is also larger than that of UO2 inclusions; The amount of small size inclusions is more than that of large size inclusions in each class.
