Abstract

As the dockless bike sharing is quickly rising in China, it provides a new way to travel for residents. This empirical research examined the factors which influence dockless bike sharing user's intention. Based on the modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a theoretical model was proposed, which integrated eight research variables including intention to use, behavior of use, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norm, service quality, perceived cost, and perceived risk. The researchers investigated 409 valid respondents in Chengdu in China. After testing the reliability and validity of questionnaire by SPSS 19.0, researchers examined the theoretical hypothesis through structural equation model, and found that subjective norm and perceived usefulness are the main factors affecting the intention and behavior of bike sharing users; subjective norm, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use have a positive effect on the user's intention to use; perceived cost and perceived risk have a negative impact on bike sharing users intention; the service quality has a positive impact on user's perceived ease of use.
