Abstract

In modern society, with the rapid development of digital social media and short video platforms, TikTok has become one of the important media for people to kill time and gain knowledge in their daily life. TikTok builds a "user-centered" algorithm recommendation mode, which not only improves the convenience and pleasure of content receiving but also brings some influence on users. As the main social media audience, the new generation of college students is more sensitive to network information, willing to accept new things and keen on pursuing personalized content. Under such circumstances, the information cocoon effect is particularly obvious to them. Studying the information of personalized algorithms on the Internet led to the cocoon phenomenon of the influence factors of college students and the formation mechanism, preventing students from accessing information with limited breadth, solidifying the phenomenon's occurrence, such as personal thinking. This TikTok APP, for example, through the way of questionnaire investigation and data analysis, parsing information cocoon effect and generated by the impact of correlation, to explore the influence of the information cocoon effect on college students caused by the personalized algorithm.
