Abstract

Quasi-spherical silver was synthesized by reducing silver nitrate with ascorbic acid by the liquid-phase reduction method. The effects of the concentration of silver nitrate and ascorbic acid, feed rate, and pH on the particle size of the silver powder were studied. The best conditions for preparing silver powder by the orthogonal experiment are: silver nitrate concentration is 0.05 mol/L, feeding speed is 25 mL/min and pH = 6. The morphology of the silver powder prepared under the optimal conditions is spheroidal, uniformly dispersed, and the particle size is 1.81 μm. Silver nitrate concentration is the most influential in powders' size silver powder.
