Abstract
The importance of Industry 4.0 in healthcare is obvious. Medical device manufacturing is a highly regulated field making it challenging to introduce new technologies into the manufacturing process. Computer-aided design and manufacturing technology is used to develop custom medical devices. Respiratory diseases are due to the inability of the lungs to cope with the gas exchange at rest and effort. The causes can be multiple, from stenosis of the respiratory tract to the consequences of infections with various pathogens. Spirometry is one of the main methods used in this respect. This paper aims to develop a spirometer using a Venturi tube connected to the differential pressure sensor type MPX10DP. The Venturi tube was designed using FUSION 360 and 3D printed. The pressure sensor is connected to an amplifier made with the INA118 circuit, and the ARDUINO UNO microcontroller takes the signal. The program running on the computer calculates the forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1).
