Abstract

Objective To investigate the scientificity of the iridodialysis grading standards and the practicability of the improved closed repair operation on the iridodialysis. Methods According to the grading standards, 18 eyes of 18 cases with Ⅱor Ⅲ degree iridodialysis were treated with the improved closed repair operation. The auxiliary incision paralleling to the limbus was made on one side of the detached iris root, and then the iridic interruption was repaired with the closed continuous lockrand suture technique. Results The classification method was simple and clear which facilitated the application of the clinical research.Eighteen eyes of 18 cases with Ⅱor Ⅲ degree iridodialysis received the improved closed repair operation. The pupils were circular, oval and mediate after the surgery in 17 cases, accounting for 94.4%. Of 11 cases with Ⅱdegree iridodialysis, the pupils were circular and mediate in 8 cases (72.7%) and were oval and mediate in 3 cases(27.3%). Of the other 7 cases with Ⅲ degree iridodialysis, the pupils were circular and mediate in 4 cases(57.1%), and were oval and mediate in 2 cases(28.6%). Conclusion The unified standards of describing iridodialysis were lacking at present. So that it is absolutely necessary to make a unified grading (degree) standards for iridodialysis to guide the clinical treatment and research. The improved repair operation is a complementary to the iridodialysis closed operation. It is much more simple and practical. Key words: Iridodialysis; Grading standard; Repair operation; improved
