Abstract
Old age people are associated with weakness of skeletal muscles and decrease in muscle functions. Usually in old age, people undergo wasting of muscles and loss of particular type 2 muscle fibres. So they are more prone for fall and fracture. It has stated in various research that stress and cognition has an impact on muscle functions. A survey was conducted among localities of chennai. The study population are adults and geriatrics. This study was conducted to demonstrate the effect of stress on muscle. The aim of this cross-sectional study is to explore the ‘study of the effect of stress on muscles among adults and geriatrics’. The questions were distributed among 100 individuals of various age groups ranging from 35 to 85 years and the results were evaluated. The survey was carried out using self administered, structural, and online based questions. In the 100 study population 85% of the study population are adults and 15% are geriatrics. This study shows most of the adult population have stress and tender muscles, and also it shows Geriatrics also having stress and tender muscles, but with a minimum sample study population and inappropriate procedure to measure stress we can't assume that at what gradient does stress affects our muscles. But further from current study we assume from the questions asked on the individuals, that stress is one of the causes to affect our muscle.
