Abstract

In this paper, deposition of the nickel-base Waspoloy powder via high power fiber laser was investigated. Single tracks were deposited with different sets of parameters. Sound layers free of cracks were achieved. Samples were examined at the conditions of as-deposited and after heat treatment. XRD analysis was adopted to compare the phases that existed in the layers. Both optical microscope and SEM were used to investigate and compare the microstructure of the as-deposited and the heat treated layers. EDX analyses were carried out to identify the compositions in the deposited layers.
