Abstract

LiGaxIn1−xSe2 is one of promising semiconductor nonlinear optical crystals for laser frequency conversion in the mid-IR spectral range. Single-phase LiGa0.3In0.7Se2 polycrystal were synthesized directly from the constituent elements by vapor transporting and temperature oscillations method. According to this method, explosions of quartz ampoule that result from selenium vapor pressure at high temperature were solved. After synthesis, structure and composition of the obtained ingot were measured. And the results manifest that high purity LiGa0.3In0.7Se2 polycrystal were successfully synthesized and intermediate impurities have not been found on the compound.
