Abstract
In this paper, basalt fiber (BF) was modified by two kinds of method, one of method was corroded by concentrated nitric acid, the other was superficial modified by silane coupling agent KH560, and then the surface of basalt fiber was observed by SEM. The results indicated that roughness of modified BF increased, this will help to improve mechanical properties and bonding properties of composites. And BF/EP-PU composite was prepared. Thermodynamic properties and dielectric properties of composite materials were measured and analyzed. The result was suggested that the surface of basalt fiber became rough after modified by both nitric acid and KH560. Mechanical property of composites was improved with the doping of basalt fiber, shear strength of 2wt% BF composite was maximum. Thermal decomposition temperature (Td) was increased, and basalt fiber/epoxy resin modified by nitric acid had higher heat resistant than that of composites modified by KH560. Both dielectric constant and dielectric loss increased with the increasing of the ding content of BF.
