Abstract

Corrugated plate is an important steam-water separation device in steam generator of a nuclear power plant. Liquid film rupture and subsequent re-entrainment phenomenon are important factors affecting steam-water separation efficiency. The strip-shaped liquid film generated by rupture of film on corrugated plate wall under horizontal shear of airflow is studied. When airflow speed increases to a certain extent, one strip-shaped film suddenly becomes two strip-shaped films. When two strip-shaped films fly away from the mainstream, their fly direction will form a certain angle, which is called the angle formed by two strip-shaped liquid films. LIF method is used to measure this angle. A fitting equation of the angle with good applicability is obtained. Results reveal that the angle is related to corrugated plate structure parameters, physical properties of gas and liquid, relatively. Additionally, breakdown position of two strip-shaped liquid films is measured and its prediction is future research direction.
