Abstract
Equipment reliability data is an important basis for the safety assessment in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), as well as the development of operation and maintenance programs. At present, reliability data for safety assessment mainly relies on general data from nuclear power plants. However, in many cases, general data are not be applicable to evaluate the safety of the system, and there is even no general data available. Therefore, we need to consider other reliability prediction methods to deal with such situations. In this paper, the reliability prediction method of mechanical equipment is used. Besides, two equipment of NPP facilities was chosen as case studies. Based on the comparison between the prediction results and general data, it shows that the reliability prediction method of mechanical equipment can provide a useful reference for determining equipment reliability data in NPP.
