Abstract

In a view to March towards sustainability, researchers were working on various ways to preserve the environment by reducing the consumption of natural resources as well as by reusing the waste materials in an effective manner in construction industry. This research work focus on the application of non-degradable Polyethylene Terephthalate(PET) plastic waste in an effective way by using as a filler material in paver block which can be used in light traffic location. In addition to the usage of PET waste, sugarcane bagasse ash(SCBA) is partially replaced with cement in paver block making. This research work focuses on the application of 30% PET waste as a filler material to the volume of paver block along with comparing the application of SCBA as various proportions to partial replacement for cement. Based on the results obtained from the tests carried over in concrete with different proportions it was observed that, PET waste and SCBA can be effectively used as filler material in paver block making.
