Abstract
Objective To optimize the extraction of total alkaloids in Tinospora sinensis. Methods The orthogonal test was designed to evaluate the effect of ethanol concentration, number of times, extraction time and solvent volume on the extraction amount of total alkaloid. Results The optimum extraction process included extracting hydrochloric acid-70% ethanol (1:100) 3 times by 1 hour each time which made the amount of it 8 times more than before. Conclusions This optimized technology could be accurate, reproducible, and feasibile. Key words: Tinospora sinensis; Alkaloids; Orthogonal test; Extraction technology
