Abstract

The development of wireless power transfer for electric vehicles is mainly limited by output power and transmission efficiency. The factors affecting output power and transmission efficiency mainly include the frequency of batteries, coil radius, transmission coil group spacing, and coil wire diameter. This paper analyzes energy transfer process based on wireless power transmission system via magnetic resonance coupling for electric vehicles by means of equivalent circuit. We derive the relationship between the system output power and transmission efficiency and the power frequency, coil radius, transmission coil group spacing, and coil wire diameter. Through simulation, we obtained the curve of system output power and transmission efficiency with these parameters. When the size of any one parameter changes from zero to infinity, the output power of the system increases first and then decreases. There is always a set of optimal parameters to maximize the output power of the system.Transmission efficiency varies monotonically with parameter changes, And when the transmission efficiency is the highest, the output power cannot reach the maximum. Finally, this paper gives a method for calculating the optimal parameters of the system to achieve the maximum output power.
