Abstract

Multipath effect is an important error in GNSS positioning especially in maritime applications. This paper aimed at mitigating the multipath effect on real-time kinematic precise point positioning (PPP). First we analyzed the principle of the multipath effect, using the elevation angle and signal noise ratio (SNR) to determine the source of multipath, then the teqc software was used to quantify the size of multipath error. Based on the Estimate SETC model and Iono-free LC, the impact of the multipath effect on the ionosphere correction is deeply studied. It is found that when the multipath effect is significant, dual-frequency ionosphere correction will bring a larger error, is not necessarily the best choice for ionosphere correction.
