Abstract

Harmonic components included in the output waveforms of inverter circuits cause magnetic noise from the output transformers or load motors. Functions to estimate the magnetic noise caused by the harmonics are proposed. After confirming the relationship between the proposed functions and the magnetic noise by experiments, the authors compare the magnetic noise qualitatively in several output waveforms of PWM inverters, considering their distortions. By applying those functions, those waveforms that are more noisy can be predicted. >
