Abstract

The theoretical approach of theoretical analysis combined with modeling and simulation is proposed to research the key problems such as the magnetic field calculation method of reactor and the influence of turn-to-turn short-circuit fault on coil inductance and spatial magnetic field. Based on the electrical characteristics and equivalent circuit of dry-type air-core reactors (DAR), the equivalent model was established according to Kirchhoffs law and Maxwell's equations. The reactor coil inductance and the spatial magnetic field distribution in view of finite element simulation were established. By comparing the magnetic field distribution of DAR with the axial center axis (ATC) and the radial central axis (LTC) in different positions, the rules about the effect of the turn-to-turn short-circuit fault on the magnetic field were obtained. The result provides the theoretical foundation for the turn-to-turn short-circuit fault detection of DAR.
