Abstract

The inter-turn short-circuit fault of Dry-type Air-core Reactors (DAR) will cause serious threat to the safe operation of power system, for which the detection method is necessary. The variation of magnetic field distribution of DAR when the inter-turn short-circuit occurs was stimulated and analyzed in this paper. Firstly, the simulation model was established while the same inter-turn fault was set in nine different positions uniformly. Secondly, the influence of the fault on the magnetic field of DAR were obtained by comparing the spatial magnetic field distribution along the Axial Traverse in Center(ATC) and Lateral Traverse in Center(LTC). The comparison and in-depth study of the spatial magnetic field distribution of DAR between inter-turn short-circuit faults occurs in different positions provides a reliable theoretical basis for the feasible fault detection method.
