Abstract

The dominant influence of gene additive effects in the determination of a mildew resistance character is revealed based on the genetic and statistical analysis of apple progenies from topcross crossings; moreover, this character and columnar growth habit are inherited in a progeny independently. Gene donors and cross combinations with high common and specific combination ability of mildew resistance are distinguished to be used in the breeding process.
