Abstract

The rock strength parameters are an important basic parameters for the study of sanding mechanism, the optimization of sand control methods and the implementation of sand control technology of oil and gas wells. Therefore, accurately determining rock strength parameters of a region is especially important. The rock strength parameters are usually obtained by laboratory experiment, which cannot reflect the distribution of rock strength in a region with less cores experiment. The well logging data can be used to predict rock strength parameters because of its reflecting rich formation information. The relationship model between the logging data and the rock strength parameters was established based on the laboratory experiments of three axial strength of the limited number of cores in the Tarim Donghe Oilfield. Three dimensional geological modeling software is used to establish the prediction model of the regional distribution of the rock strength parameters with the model. The single well profile average prediction error ratio was 10.2% and the 3D model prediction average results error ratio was only 3.9% compared with experimental results. Which verified the feasibility of the establishment of the three dimensional strength parameter prediction model.it has important practical value for improving the prediction accuracy of rock strength parameters.
