Abstract
Islamic educational institutions are containers or places where the Islamic education process takes place. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. In general, there are three types of data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research include 1. Steps to implement the development of educational institutions at MTs Islamiyah YPI Batang Kuis through 4 stages. The first step in the diagnosis stage, the head of the madrasah conducts in-depth research on the problems to be faced. In the second stage of intervention, the madrasa head takes action to overcome the problem so that the problem can be resolved. The third stage of evaluation, by evaluating the research results. Fourth is the maintenance stage, by maintaining the results that have been obtained from the process of change towards improvement, it can be maintained and perfected since its establishment. 2. The model for developing educational institutions at MTs Islamiyah YPI Batang Kuis madrasa which implements full day, and uses two curricula at once, namely the Ministry of National Education curriculum and the Ministry of Religion Curriculum.
