Abstract

The arc extinguishing force produced by the explosive airflow device is an important factor affecting the arc extinguishing time. This paper studies the influence of the explosive airflow produced by the device on the arc extinguishing time from the angle of arc motion. Using the chain arc model and arc extinction arc length criterion, the arc extinction time under different nozzle angle and flow velocity parameters when the fault current was 1kA was simulated and compared with the test results, the simulation value was basically consistent with the actual value. The extinction time of arc is related to the velocity of explosive flow. In the case of the same faulty arc current, the extinction time of arc decreases with the increase of airflow velocity, this shows the feasibility of the explosive airflow arc extinguishing device in the performance of arc extinguishing.
