Abstract
The dithizone-modified sodium trititanate whisker as a solid sorbent was prepared by using impregnation method. The adsorption properties of the sorbent to Cd(II) in static system, main factors affecting the adsorption and desorption rate, adsorption capacity, and influence of coexisting ions on the determination of Cd(II) were investigated by flame atomic adsorption spectrometry (FAAS). The selection experiment of the sorbent was also done. The results show that Cd(II) could be adsorbed by 0.2000 g of modified sodium trititanate whisker at pH 5.0, and eluted by 10 ml of 1.0 mol/l of HNO3; compared with nonmodifided sodium trititanate whisker, the sorbent possesses excellent adsorptivity and better selection. It had been applied to the determination of Cd(II) in environmental water samples.
