Abstract

In modern cellular networks, electromagnetic prediction tools are mostly used in the planning and optimization of the capacity and coverage. This paper presents a comparative study of large scale fading models using GSM received signal in mobile cellular installation during the harmattan season in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, West-Africa. The study area is a typical suburban area. The land morphology is a savannah. The received power signal is carried out with help of Nemo Outdoor tools during a wide over-air test measurement. The large scale model of Hata Okumura is considered and compared to the data fit. The results have indicated that the theoretical Hata model may give a little agreement in the study area.
